clover leaf connection to 2 pin adapter?

is it possible to buy an adapter that you can plug into a female clover leaf type connection (3 pin) so you can plug a 2 pin into it?
just wondering because ive just bought a new dell inspiron laptop and it uses the 3 pin plug on the power lead, i have a 2 pin with an american plug that came from my old inspiron laptop and it was handy to have because i visit the states alot.
I know i could just buy a 3 pin lead with an american plug but just thought id ask the question.
