    £20 + £10 per month .. Thats £360 a year.
That would not pay for one CP break, never mind two.!

Lets be realistic. If you choose Centre Parcs it is going to cost .. A LOT.
Personally i don't think its worth it - it is a rip off . But if you can afford it then give it a try because it is very nice .
There won't be any amazing deals in November, so don't put off booking expecting last minute deals ( unless you know any staff that can get you a friends and family villa).

It does look nice in winter with the trees lit up, and its great going in the pool ( especially at Sherwood) and going outside when its dark with the mist coming off the hot pool because the air is so cold.
But if you are worried about the cost them look elswhere. The Butlins bonfire weekend is better value.

I didn't mean to delay booking until then, I said i'm sure they will have reasonable prices in November, as it is out of school holiday season. As a family of 8 we've had 4 bed woodland lodges for £300, really difficult to find a cottage with a swimming pool that sleeps 8 for that much..(wish I could though :D)

There is no way i'd ever stay at Butlins, going by the accomodation on their website you'd have to pay me, lol! But each to their own, I don't think the two types of holiday are comparable really.

We have been looking at CP a lot and really want to book one of the 199 offers but when I try and locate one, I cannot find anything as close to 199..

Is there a magic way of finding these prices?

I've checked the website & for example they have 4 nights (MW break) on the 11th of January 2010 in a 2 bedroom comfort villa for £199 in all 4 villages. I love goin in January as most people are fed up with the "going back to work" & the anti climax of new year - I can say "I'm going away".

Have a peep & put the date in.
  • Hi, we're looking at holidays for next summer and are looking to do something like centreparcs/butlins etc.

Previous posters have mentioned that Centreparcs is good for toddlers but is it any good for younger babies? Next summer we will have a 27 month old and a 7 month old so need something that's going to be enjoyable for all of us as a family with enough to keep the kiddies occupied!

I was also under the impression that the majority of the extra activities at Centreparcs you have to pay extra for - does this not bump the price up alot?

Yummymummy - CP is great for babies too. Seeing 7 month old babies are quite easy & lite to nap walks in the forest would be great. I know in Whinfell they use the big hall for soft play & its huge - ball pits, mats, trikes, bikes etc. It cost about £3.00 & I stayed there for 90 minutes. I took my 9 month old there in January & he loved it. There's also a baby section in the pub & the bowling alley place & they're free. The swimming pool (also free) is great. The main bonus is the water is warm & they can stay there as long as they want to & they won't get cold. The older the kids are the cost will rise bout they're not huge prices. For example I paid £3.50 for a hour rollerskating & I find that reasonable. I've never used the creche nor the kiddy activities (a bit of a language barrier in my instance - my kids don't speak English!!) but if they would I'd probably use them once during the time there. You won't believe how small some babies are there - I'm sure some are only born a few days B4 landing there!!

What's the point in going on holiday only to say that things are expensive. We all work hard through the year & deserve some fun!
