A point about this part of the forum

I don't want to upset or offend anyone, and I'm not moaning. This is just something I've noticed while looking through the IWIWIW part of the forum and I'm interested to see what others think.
Posts in I Won used to carry titles stating the prize. I see now that the majority of posts seem to carry titles saying 'Thanks ******'.
I don't have a problem with this as such, I just think it's a bit of a shame. While it's great that people take the time to thank the OPs (and I definatley wouldn't like that to stop), I feel the forum just doesn't have the same 'feel' to it as when people titled their posts with the prize.
Maybe it's just me
and I hope I'm getting my point across clearly. Reading through IWIWIW just doesn't feel the same when most of the threads are titled 'Thanks *****'.

I've only been here a few months and it's been like this since I joined, so I know no better.

Hmmm...I don't care at all. Don't think it makes any difference whatsoever.
I just get annoyed when people don't bother to try and thank the OP, especially when they have a big win :mad::mad:Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

i try and give some details but it depends what the prize is - if it's a book I tend to just say thank xxxx - book win but if it's anything i try and give some description
also makes it easier to see if someone else has won the same thing2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89

I think it probably comes down to preference really.
Personally, I get a bit of a buzz seeing my name in the title on the IWIWIW forum, cos I know someone has won one of my comps, which makes posting worthwhile.
I generally don't read all the posts on this forum (cos there are so many winners!) so it's kinda nice to see my name now & again.
Hope this makes sense. xxx
The Rock Chick, she say 'courtesy costs nowt' - spread the word!

oh i agree with putting thank xxx in title but knowing what they've won is nice too
tbh i don't really care either way as long as they thank OP

completely agree - that really is my pet peeve, people not being ar$3d to thank the op really irritates me! :rolleyes:The Rock Chick, she say 'courtesy costs nowt' - spread the word!

I tend to put both in the title. The subject field is long enough to add both bits of info.0

lol, I havent checked back to see how I do it, but sometimes the prize can be a bit of a mouthful to stick in the title cant it?
I THINK I usually put the prize in the title when I've won when its short enough!! I shall have to go back and check!!
And Rock Chick Bird you must get loads of buzzes from seeing your name on there then as LOADS of people seem to win from your postings!! I myself have won at least 3 or 4 different things from your posts - so another thank you again!! :rotfl:
Although I do find that posts that state big prizes in their title get more well dones than others (Especially those ITV wins!!)....but i suppose thats just natural!

I usually include both in the title, thanks xxx I won yyy. I know people like to see what has been won as it can be a good boost in the dry spells. For me personally it is to publicly acknowledge that the op was contributory to the win.0

lol, I have just checked back on my posts and they are soooooooo random!!

Sometimes I say in the title "thank you *******", sometimes it is along the lines of "yay I have won *******" and other times it is "Thanks ******, I have won *******"!!!!
I always try and make sure I put full details in body though, usually linking to the competition as well as sometimes I like to see who has won what from which actual competition!
Maybe I should stick with 1 format of title for my IWIWIW threads!! :rotfl:2010 Running Total - £8
