Cheers, robt.
I'll probably want the Professional or Ultimate editions, which are unfortunately much more expensive. :-( Is there a comprehensive list of differences? The only one I could find is here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/products/windows-7/compare-editions
I just can't believe that basic things like multi-lingual support are only available in the Ultimate edition! That's crazy!
The Ultimate version is ~£170 on Amazon instead of the RRP ~£230. Is the price likely to return to jump back up after the release date? At these prices, I'm tempted to make the jump to Linux for good!0 -
Home premium has a lot included.Cheers, robt.

Here's another list - http://www.winsupersite.com/win7/win7_skus_compare.asp0 -
Thanks, mr_fishbulb! That's much more comprehensive. I just have to decide if the following (the most important options for me) are worth ~£100 extra. Probably not, I guess.
Professional & Ultimate versions only:- Remote Desktop host
- Join a domain
- XP mode
- Max 192GB RAM (up from 16GB in Home Premium)
- Subsystem for UNIX applications

I would say that remote desktop is definately not worth the extra.
I use LogMeIn Free - https://secure.logmein.com/products/free/
excellent free remote desktop app - some limitations of course but does what I need it to do. One thing I like especially about this application is that both users can see the desktop at the same time - so I can show them what to do right on their screen.0 -
That's a good price. In fact, for all those who like to complain that everything is cheaper in America, it's cheaper than the current US upgrade price.0

Thanks for this, I've just cancelled my pre-order with Ebuyer and saved some cash !0
