How long to give seller chance to get in touch?

Hi, I made a 'best offer' on a piece of furniture on tuesday evening which was almost immediately accepted ( within 20mins) I emailed straight away to enquire about collection at a time to suit the seller etc and told him the only time I couldnt collect was yesterday evening and this evening.
Seller hasnt replied as yet. Because my offer had a little bit of time before being accepted I dont think it was set to automatically accept a certain offer, so I am surprised he has made no contact at all.
The item was for 50 and I offered 40 so wasnt a desperately cheeky offer.
Im not overly bothered if he doesnt get in touch but I offered, I won so am prepared to collect and pay.
Is it up to me to chase this seller? Surely if he wanted to sell, he would have been in touch, especially as he knew he sold the item on tuesday evening.
What would the consequences be if, say, he got in touch after a week wanting me to collect? I think that is too long and wouldnt be unreasonable for me to have seen and bought a similar item from elsewhere.
I just want to do the right thing but dont know what a rasonable amount of time to leave it would be.
Thanks.
