Sent wrong item.

I bought me a to you bear best mum mug and bear set and a tea towel off the same seller. Recieved my order today and its the wrong mug. Infact its the wrong mug and doesnt include the bear which is infact what I actually ordered.

Also the inside of the box of the mug is ripped. Even if it was the right order I dont think i would be best pleased with it being ripped.

What do I do now? I know I have to send it back recorded delivery etc. But will I get my postage refunded? They are a business.

I've messaged them and just waiting to here back from them now.

Many thanks.

I would push the seller for a partial refund as its going to cost a fair bit to post back. They may have missed the bear out of the parcel. If they dont respond then leave appropriate feedback & DSR's.

What would you like to happen?

    You could:

    1. Suggest a suitable partial refund and then keep what they've sent.

    or

    2. Send it back recorded and get them to send the correct one (leaving a negative if they don't refund the return postage - it was their mistake after all...)
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    Thanks for your replies.

Stevie - its in one big slim box. This is a totally different box which is wider also and a totally different mug. Seller has apoligised and said it was there mistake having a bad day which I dont mind however I want my P&P refunded.

Pinkshoes- I dont want this item at all to be honest. Its a different mug which I already have bought for my mother a while ago. I've been polite and I have now got to go out of my way to buy a box or something to put the mug in as the box is quite big go to the post office and post office which is more money on bus fair and packaging it and then sending it.

I've asked the seller whether I will be getting my P&P refunded just waiting for a reply at the moment.

Just recieved a message off the seller. She is a business however she wants me to send it to her home address? Also she said she will refund my P&P. However I am going have to buy a small box or something to put the mug in. If I buy a small box from the post office is it reasonable of me to send the reciept for it and asked for that amount refunded to? Wish I never ordered it now!

It is reasonable of you to claim for all expenses as it was totally the sellers fault. She may want it sent to her home address as there may be someone in to sign for it, I don't think this is odd.

Thanks Stevie. Sorry I have never recieved the wrong item before. I'm so stressed at the moment and this does not help either. I've got to find a box to send it in now ! Then go to the post office. Arghhh.

I would just have a look round the house for a box, washing powder tablets etc. can be used. It is their fault and you should not be getting stressed about sending it back!

Thanks stevie. Well I looked for a box in my house but had no joy size wise either too big or too small!

So I bought a box from the post office for 2 pounds may not be much but its the princible I think. As well as money been spent on bus fair I have at to buy a box ... And they wont pay for the whole P&P which actually includes packaging I hope they realise.

I think they have sent my right order this time. I am rather annoyed at the fact it was not my fault they sent the wrong item to be honest.

So have sent back the original item? sorry but if youd opened a paypal dispute you would have had to return at your cost, some good sellers will refund the cost to post back when its there error.

Not heard of a selelr refunding packaging costs before though.

hope the right item arrives this time round

Not yet I think they have sent it out but its not arrived yet. I dont see why I should pay for something when it is there fault for sending the item back when its there fault not mine. I understand mistakes happen but I aint at all pleased.

Edit: Sorry I read your reply wrongly.

Well I went town on saturday firstly I forgot the mug then went back for it .. Then I forgot the address. I've not sent it out yet but they can wait until I am going town later this week. I wont be going town just to post it.
