can you get free driver updates ?

I quite often see ads for software that says it's scan your computer and identify software / drivers that needs updating .... but then you find out you have to subscribe / pay to actually get it .

Are there any free one's ?

The updated drivers are all generally available for free you just need to go look for them (manufacturers websites)

These 'automated' bits of software that trawl through your PC are very capable of mis-identifying your hardware, installing completly the wrong 'updated' driver and generally fouling things up -you're probably best steering clear of them

Why do you think you want to update the drivers? generally unless you're having a problem or know of a specific 'feature' in an updated driver you specifically want they're best left alone....
