Help!!! laptop blue screening

Hi
last night i installed Divx for windows, and for the first time ever, my trusty old laptop blue screened.....about 8 times. managed to put it into safe mode and uninstalled Divx along with a few other things....but then it did it again.

I'm a novice so have no idea whats wrong. I ran a Hijack this report, but its all gobbledegook to me:

    yo seem to be running avira AND comodo internet suite, which means you are running two anti virus (should not)

    uninstall Avira or Comodo

    you are also running a very out of date version of XP

    go to www.windowsupdate.com and click on Express , then do the updates

    then go back again after the reboot and do it again to make sure they are all done

    then do it again and choose custom , then update any hardware updates

    will do the above...but managed to check the system log and this error keeps coming up:

    error DCOM. Event ID 10016

    The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {D1290A7E-156A-11D4-8356-00105A6BC646}
    to the user GSH012110\GSH SID (S-1-5-21-1220945662-1935655697-1957994488-1003). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

    Its still blue screening.
    It’s an old company laptop that’s now mine and I’ve managed to get to admin status on it. If I bought a newer version of Windows and uninstalled everything on the laptop would that fix it??

    Error is DCOM 10016???
