anyone a member of airgunbbs ?

i posted there a few times and ive been banned for nothing, i havent a clue why, would love to get in contact with the admins but they have effectively locked me out (i can only view some of the boards and its impossible to post).

I would advise how you could access the site again to contact them but because of Freddie's comment I looked up the site and similarly disapprove of it.

a little back story is needed i think, im not winding anyone up, i posted on there asking legal advice as my mum had been shot, i dont approve of missusing rifles and i used to be a member of my local gun club, i was a bit upset to find i had be banned whilst trying to get help from people who i would consider in the know.

(my mum was shot in sainsburys carpark by some loony in their garden with an electric bbgun, the police were contacted and we have a crime number and all that, the advice was purely for my own piece of mind)

I think the websites splash page explains the reason you were blocked:

"air gunning as a sport is constantly under scrutiny. Any post which is deemed to not be in the sports long term interest will be edited or deleted."

I would guess that if you were asking about irresponsible use of airguns they would want to cover up any suggestions that this kind of pratice went on. If they aim to promote airguns and their use, they don't want evidence that some people cannot be trusted with them on their site. It's also possible that a member was involved in your Mum's case, in which case any discussion would possibly have jeapordised their case.

It's a prviate forum - they don't have to give you a reason nor have any rationale for banning you. I'd move on and ask for true legal advice

This is the sort of comment above by someone who knows absolutely nothing about air guns and the people who use them. Believe it, we do not cover anything up, if anything misuse gets hi-lighted very quickly and is noted by the resident rep Terry Doe.

I suggest you get your research done before passing comment.

The reason people get banned is simple they are passing stupid comments, showing pictures of shot quarry(absolutely banned) Passing comment on how to up the power on an air gun etc., etc. The siteowner leaves the moderation up to the staff that volunteer their time. The outside World can look in at anytime and that is why it's strict when moderating. If you have a grievance on why you have been banned I suggest you contact one of the moderators whose email addresses you can find on a sticky post 'Forum Admin & Mod List' on the non-airgun section of the board.
