Removing Permanent Ink from Baby Annabel!

Whilst dd1 is at school, my ds has decided to massacre Baby Annabel's face with a permanent marker pen (which husband uses to write on cd's - and left lying about last night!)

Any tips for removing the said pens marks from Annabels face? Daughter will have a fit when returning home from school!

Got an hour to get it off, have tried wd40, stardrops, 1001, flash etc,.........WW3 will be starting at approx 3.20pm!

Help!

pot

Ps - after re-rading, Baby Annabel is a doll (for those who haven't heard of her) - Not a child - Don't need social services here too! :rotfl:

Hi pot'o'gold, just wondering if you had any luck yet? The only tip that I had was using bicarb of soda and scrubbing it in with a nail brush then using one of those cleaning wipes to go over it and that did the trick. Could still see a very very faint pen line but that was black marker so eldest sprog was pleased with the result....

Have you tried 'Erase Away' you can get it in Asda and it is fab for getting all sorts of marks off lots of different surfaces.

JML also do a version but I haven't tried that

Acetone (nail varnish remover), or any alcohol (vodka or aftershave) should get rid of it no problem.

    Hope this helps

We have an annabel somewhere with pen still on her face. I test/tried a few solvents, none worked, annabel's face is a strange kind of textured "skin" and the pen seems to have been deeply absorbed.

I hope I'm not too late with this message but I wouldn't recommend using Acetone on the doll. It will remove the ink but will permanently damage the surface........so you'll be left with an even bigger problem.;)

I would try using something like Flash powder on a dampened cloth.

    Good luck

So glad to learn that Baby Annabel is a doll. :rotfl: ! Was horrified as I read on but did figure it out for myself before my cardiac arrest and arriving at your ps.

Try the "Baby Annabel was missing you so she's gone on holiday for a few days. When she returns looking as good as new, she'll have a present for you, Sweetheart". Buy another asap. AND don't forget the extra gift: the least you could do.

....and, if your daughter gets drunk on the fumes, you can tell her that Baby Annabel got a great sun tan while she was away at school.

I hope your weather's as beautiful as ours has been, up in Scotland, and you might get away with it.

I hope you're all enjoying great weather anyway.

    Hi Pot of Gold

What happened when your daughter got home, or did you manage to get it off?
