Need some advice

Hi,

I purchased an apple iphone 3g from a seller on ebay listed as faulty thinking that I might be able to repair it. This was not the case and i asked for a refund but the seller would not accept refund payments. So I was £200 down and thought I would have to relist the item as faulty on ebay. Noted in the auction that it was a faulty item. Now the new buyer has the iphone and took it to apple and they advised that the IMEI number has been blocked and is most likely a stolen phone.

I no longer have the money available to refund the buyer and he is saying i either refund him or he goes to the police and tells them i sold him a stolen phone and let the police deal with me.

I have opened a dispute with the original seller about this getting me into a jiffy and all and am awaiting a reply from him..

Any advice???

Well for starters the claim you put in with the original seller you will loose. Unless you are able to prove it was stolen

If the buyer who bought off you with paypal. he can open an item not as described and win. Paypal will refund him then chase you for the money. Why should your buyer loose out. You should ask him to return the item to you for a refund and find the money somewhere. If not paypal will

As for the police if you can show the seller you bought it off and show that you sold it on in good faith I wouldnt worry too much
