Car MOT with flat spare tyre

I have my car booked in for its MOT on Fri but just had a flat tyre. Is the spare tyre part of the MOT check, so that i can wait untill next week to get it fixed. Or will i need to get it fixed for Friday?

the spare tyre is NOT a legal requirement for mot but if you do have one in the boot it MUST be serviceable tread and inflated etc.hope this helps

its like cars registered on or before feb 1978 if they are up for mot they doNOT need to have seatbelts fitted but IF they do they must be suitable and working.

This might help - I had my car MOT'd recently and I'm sure they did not check my spare tyre as it's in the boot which was not opened!

We have much more stringent MOT's in N. Ireland.

Spare tyre not checked at my MOT (and that was at Boucher Rd this AM) and never has been, in my experience

    Good Luck

Pretty sure that it's not a requirement to have a spare tyre for MOT, but if you have one it's tread must be legal and inflated. You could leave it at home that day...

My spare tyre was not checked either and the test occurred in NI.

Either way I think I would be happier if the spare was usable ;) MOT or not
