Broken pram

A friend of mine bought a pram last year in June 08 just before her baby was born. It's a mamas and papas one, brand new and cost £550

Now - one of the front wheels has fallen off. She didn't ride it hard or anything like that and it just broke at the axle and fell off. She took it back to the shop where she bought it to ask about a replacement and they refused point blank to have anything to do with it, claiming the warranty was only for 6 months. mamas and papas themselves also said that their warranty was only for 12 months so they wouldn't do anything about it either.

I'm fairly new to this consumer right stuff so please tell me if I'm wrong but is there anything we can do about this? It was only just out of the warranty.

Any help appreciated.

  • Unfortunately if it's out of warranty then there is nothing you can do other than try to find someone to fix it (which you will have to pay for).
