Can I use a different address for Paypal payments to the one previously used?

My Paypal account has been restricted - I need to pay a negative balance, so have sent the cheque off.
However, could I still sell things on eBay if payments go to a different Paypal address (a friend's) or will eBay start thinking something dodgy is happening? Am I best off just waiting for my account to be reinstated?
