Hi all,
Thinking about getting a vertical radiator for my dining room. Firstly, anyone have much experience with them? Good/bad?
Secondly, saw this one on screwfix:
Oceanus Duplex 1800 x 595mm Anthracite
Which looks exactly the same as this one B&Q sell:
Vertirad Vertical Panel Radiator Duplex Anthracite Grey (H)1800 x (W)595 x (D)93mm
Anyone have any expereince with these? (sorry not allowed to post links yet)
Many thanks.

I am also looking at vertical radiators, for my lounge and kitchen, so happy to help you out house_hunter:House_Hunter wrote: »Hi all,

I also was looking at these and they look identical to me. I would go for screwfix as they are cheap and the delivery is usually quick.
However, the above are 3351BTU and I need a bit more for my rooms so I would consider one of these range:
http://www.inspiredheating.co.uk/acatalog/Stelrad_Concord_Vertical_Radiators_1800mm_High.html
I am considering 2 of the the Stelrad Concord Vertical Radiator 1800 x 588 3549 Btu's for the lounge and one Stelrad Concord Vertical Radiator 1800 x 736 4437 Btu's for the kitchen.
Steelrad is a UK company (south yorkshire) and so these may be better quality than the unbranded ones at B&Q or Screwfix. The cheapest place I have found these is at:
http://www.bhl.co.uk/product/CONCORD_VERTICAL_1800_588_
The 588 wide one is £191.51 inc VAT and free delivery. I think that this is the one I am going to get unless anyone can find cheaper? I dont think Steelrad sell direct to the public?
Anyone else got know where you can get a better deal on some decent flat panel vertical radiators?0 -
As heat rises the lower the heat source the better and as a window is the coldest part of the room, the most efficient place for a radiator as below the window.
As long as you accept that I see no reason why you should not put in a vertical radiator.
It will work no different to a horizontal one.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Hey Elliotj,
Many thanks for your reply and for adding the links - I think you may have made a small mistake though, I was refering to the duplex versions of the 2 radiators you provided links to....
This increases their power up to ~6000 BTU methinks..
Nice and warm I hope!0
