Help needed with new shower: install electric shower or connect it to boiler

Hi fellow MSE's

I need some help with a decision between installing an electric shower or a shower connected to my boiler. I do not have an exisiting shower so there is no plumbing or electric supply there. As I understand it, I would need a new cable from my fuse box to the shower if installing electric and a wondering if it would be cheaper and less hassle to use the existing pipes from the central heating boiler.

I have measured the flow rate and for hot water 5litres takes 27 seconds = 11L/min and the cold one is 5 litres takes 7 seconds = 43 L/min. Are these ok or will I need some work to sort out the pressures - get them more even?
My boiler is a Valliant Ecomax 835 so has enough power.

Any advice or views on what would be best would be gratefully received.

you should have no problem with that vaillant boiler. we have the same make.
a plumbed in shower mixer is the answer. probably cheaper too if you dont go mad on the mixer.

Good afternoon: You should an excellent flow rate on the 835 i.e. over 14 l/min assuming your gas and mains water supplies to the boiler are up to the job.

Fit a thermostatic shower mixer or bath/shower mixer...take advantage of a superior flow rate compared to electric and cheaper to run/install.

Thanks for the advice, think I'll go for the Aqualisa Midas 100 or the Mira Coda for around £100 http://www.plumbworld.co.uk/mira-value-exposed-showers-2641-0000?Sort=PriceAsc&itemsperpage=25 which are on sale at plumbworld. I have seen a Triton Altair for £58 at Screwfix, but reading some reviews, it appears the Aqualisa and Mira may be better in the long run. Anyone have any experience of either of these showers?

Also I think I'll be able to get a shower cubicle and and tray for ~ £200

im jealous, we have just moved into a house with an electric shower and i miss my old mixer shower, OH wont have a mixer shower, is obsessed with the electric showers and wont do without it. i think electric showers are rubbish
