Loft conversion is it worth it?

I live in a small 3 bed semi house in Bromley South London.
Do people think that a loft conversion would cost more than it would add to the value of the house or less?
(At current prices).

doubt you will recover the total cost of the conversion, but it will add to the saleability of the house.

Thanks for that. I have heard that they add 20% to the house's value. My house could be worth 230 -260K. So it would add 40-52K.doubt you will recover the total cost of the conversion, but it will add to the saleability of the house.

So in theory I could make a bit of money but maybe not.0 -
generally the price of any house in any road will be similar. no matter what the extras or condition. there will be a small premium for say extensions. but rarely will you find a house valued at say 20% more than the average price in a particular road.
remember asking price is one thing. selling price can be very different.
