It does what you want, if your internal or external hard disk is a seagate or maxtor, you can use maxblast which is free.

i've never ever done a back up because i'm not computer literate so have no idea what to do

long story short, i've had my desktop repaired 3times now by pc world each time i've had to reinstall everything, i don't want to keep reinstalling everything so any help what i should do would be great.

i only have a desktop tower unit no external hard drive.

Backing up (you need disk imaging software like maxblast/trueimage to make recovery easy) is easy enough, self explanatory once you have the software, but you need somewhere to backup to, DVD, external hard drive, or large usb flash drive etc.

Well you need to find out how much data there is on your drives first, look in explorer.

Right click on your c drive, properties, repeat for all other partitions.

You install the software, and run through the wizard which will prompt you for what you want to backup (your hard disk), and where you want to backup to (usb drive etc). Trueimage isn't free, it's a trial, you may as well spend the £40 on a seagate or maxtor usb drive, and use maxblast (which is based on trueimage).

You may have other partitions, D, E etc, but that 6GB will easily fit on any external hard disk you can buy, and may even fit on a 4.7GB DVD compressed.
