Hard wearing cropped leggings??

Hello,
This is slightly embarrassing to have to ask but I don't want to keep wasting my money. I am a large lady and wear these leggings from Debenhams in a size 16.

Due to being a larger lady, I have the problem of my legs rubbing together so I find these leggings particularly useful in that if I wear them under a skirt I don't have the problem of sore legs. The problem I am having is, due to the seam of these being on the inside of the leg, the rubbing makes holes appear around the seams very quickly, so I am only getting a few weeks wear out of them and they get holes in. I have currently gone through 6 pairs of these leggings in the last few weeks (I wear them almost every day in rotation obviously as I do wash them!) and I was about to order some more when I thought that maybe I should look for some better quality ones or ones that don't have the seams on the inside that would last me longer so would save me money. I have already spent £48 on them and don't want to keep paying out for them to have holes in just a few weeks later. Does anyone have any recommendations for better quality leggings that go up to a size 16/18 (depends on where I buy them at to what size I need)?
Thanks

I don't know if they're doing them now, but last time round, when I actually had the legs to wear them, I thought M&S were the best wearing ones. You might find that if you go up a size so they're that wee bit looser on you the won't be so bad for the seams going holey0

I used to have the same problem, very annoying isn't it! I turned to Lycra cycling shorts and don't get this problem at all. Mine are made by Asics, I got mine from a small local sports shop but assume you can purchase them on the internet/other sports stores. I bought them back in July last year and haven't had to replace any yet and I have different ones for gym wear, everyday wear etc.
Surely clothes are meant to last longer than a few weeks, can't you complain to Debenhams about it? If you are deadset on leggings, I got a pair from Evans a couple of months ago, they haven't worn out yet. If I were you, I would perhaps test out 1 set of leggings from different stores to see what is best for you in terms of durability before splashing out on 6 or 7 different pairs in one go.0 -
I have some from primark, in the underwear dept they are designed to hold you in i think. Not worn them enough to see how hard wearing they are but they were dead cheap and normally that kind of thing is good from primark. My mum is still wearing leggings she bought from there in the 80s! just round the house and stuff but still!!!0

might be worth posting in HB&F for a better response though, the "fashionistas" are pretty good at this sort of thing and there are few larger ladies on the board.0

Following on from cycling shorts, if you still want the leggings look I'd recommend 3/4 length running trousers (marks do them in plain black, nay, grey etc) as they are a bit more hard wearing. You can't tell the difference (have arrived at work several times and not noticed I'm wearing my jogging leggings until I've gone to the loo and noticed the label).0

I bought some recently from evans, they have got loads of fashionable styles-

I bought a size bigger too so they have a bit more material instead of being too tight. HTH :A0 -
Try these. They are expensive but have lasted me forever

try Ebay"Dance like nobody's watching; love like you've never been hurt. Sing like nobody's listening; live like its heaven on earth." - Mark Twain0 -
Primark - leggings for £2 a pop.
Maybe not that hard wearing... but cheap enough to be slightly more disposable?0 -
comfort shorts are the answer
