I know the co-op had different prices for different areas, at one time I used to cycle past the one near me, to do my shopping at one further away which set the prices lower.0

M&S food to go stores in train stations are more expensive for some things than regular shops. I always thought M&S was v. expensive, but that was because I only used to grab stuff from their London train station branches. Now I work in a high st store I can see they actually do have some decent offers now and then.0

I thought Asda charged the same in all stores.
Anyway read trolley wars very good and an eye opener.
What you are referring to is called price-Flexing or Geographical Price Discrimination.
They charge what it thinks the local market will pay.
Nothing new and has been going on for years.

Biggest problem I find is with end of line....local store removes them from shelves, then puts them back out when promos are over....specifically laptops, netbooks, and other items that are EOS on direct and massively reduced in other stores...I think the local manager is scared if his turnover gets hit by a "run" on end of line stock....I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
