Hi
Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions about the Argos offer of 10% off digital cameras over £100 and free home delivery.
My camera has given up the ghost and I desperately need a new one, saw one on the website that I liked, but it shows as not available for home delivery! I have reserved it in store for collection as it is the only option available. When I e mailed customer service just got the standard reply stating that I could order for home delivery for 10% off etc etc - they obviously missed my point entirely that the items do not show up for that option. Collecting camera shortly-should I argue the toss in the shop or not?
Cheers

If it's a web-only offer and the website has no stock, you can try. But they have no obligation to match it.
If it says nothing about it being web-only, then you have a bit more to go on.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Esqui is bang on the money - Argos on the web can offer different deals than in store.0

Hi
Thanks for the replies, it's just a bit annoying that several of the cameras I looked at are Out of stock, but you can reserve one to pick up at local store, obviously without the 10% off. I think they should still offer the discount as I have got to go and collect it and miss out on the free delivery they were offering as well. Not much point in having a promotion stating 10% off digital cameras over £100 and free delivery if they have hardly any to choose from in stock for the home delivery and you have to trapse to the store anyway.
Thanks again will keep trying with customer services and the joys of the standard replies they send out.0 -
Be careful about buying delicate goods from Argos - when they are busy they THROW stuff on the conveyor belt according to an employee.0

I am glad you think there is a point to having a promtion stating 10% off digital cameras and free delivery then not having hardly any!! Glad you are not in charge of customer relations and stock control at Argos if you think it's tough!!!!0

He's a bit negative at times Rebecca - he'll take the opposing view to anyone. Dunno why.
As my old Gran used to say "Take no notice!"0 -
Thanks Takoda for your comments, I will get my Sister in law to check the camera before she brings it for me next week a its a bit far to take it back if the staff have been playing catch with the boxes!!!!!
Thanks again0 -
What camera is it? Can you find it cheaper elsewhere?.....0

Some of the delicate stuff (usually the more expensive, so may cover OP's purchase) is usually kept in a locked cupboard that has to be collected by hand, or is put on the conveyor at the end. Used to be that way in the Argos where I used to live, as the cabinet was near the conveyor, and you could see them get stuff.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.
