  • Hi!

I guess it's a bit too late now but if you are still to do this article, I booked my honeymoon with Sal Travel and was naturally devastated when days before my wedding I had still not received the tickets. Please let me know if you still plan on writing the article!

We have also been scammed by Loadman and Global Travel have a lot to answer for. Difference is - am national journalist. I intend to write a story about this fiasco nay fraud and would like to make contact with all who have been affected. Can give anonymity if required but I will certainly be detailing my own story. This is a scandal.
  • we were scammed by colin loadman of sal travel in 2008, we contacted global travel and our credit card company, we supplied them both with the extensive email corrrespondance, dates and clear proof of the scam. both global and our credit card company said it was nothing to do with them. I still have all the proof of the scam and would appeciate any input or help on the matter as i did not realise the depth of the scam.

We are still trying to get over £2,000 back from The Global Travel Group Plc.

Anyone looking to book with an "independent agent" who is part of The Global Travel Group needs to be very careful.

We were completely scammed by one of their agents and the Global Travel Group will not repay the money to us, despite the alleged "Customer Protection Guarantee" assurances on the agents website and on Global Travel's Website.

We booked believing that we were fully covered in the event of any problems with the agent - this is what they would lead you to believe. But their guarantees appear to mean nothing. The agent was covered under the ATOL scheme.

The Group ATOL policy of The Global Travel Group covers you if Global Travel goes bust. If the "independent agent" runs away with your money, you are left high and dry like us with a huge legal bill to get your money back.

It is not fair and hundreds of people can be scammed this way.

If you book a holiday - pay in full by credit card - at least that way you are covered!

Also as we found out, book with an agent who is a certified member of ABTA, not just ATOL registered.
