Hi all,
I'm looking to buy a colour printer (around £100) but would like people's advice on what brand to get from a reliability perspective and cost of printing in terms of cartridges etc.
Any thoughts/advice?
Cheers
Tim

There were lots of signs up about the very cheap costs of genuine carts for it
I used to run epsons on copy cartridges but found invariably they clog up over time...0 -
only 2 cartridges, so that means red, blue and yellow are in 1, so when you run out of 1 of the 3 colours you'll need to replace the entire cartridge.
personally i have a epson sx200 bought for £45, i use compatibles when the orginials run out. compatibles for it are around £12-14 for 18ml chip 6 cartridges and the quality is as good as epsons.
cartridges are individual, so when one of the colours goes, i just need to replace that 1 color
note about all printers: when printing in black only, they all use the colours to make the black blacker. FACT.
note2: epsons have a ink pad, when this gets filled, you have to send the printer off to have it replaced. This i assume would cost just as much as to buy a new printer, so i recommend before it gets filled, to google youtube about how to change to a waste bottle instead. basically buy some tube to fit onto the internal tube or use a coupler to join the 2 tubes together and have the bottle outside the printer, when bottle gets filled, replace with another bottle. therefore not using the inkpad internal, and therefore will never have to send back.
just use the old drinks bottles, a 2litre fizzy drink bottle would last a hell of a long time. but if you drink smaller bottles use one of them and keep with lid for this purpose.
the above info is for people who use their printers literally every day, i only use mine once a month if that.
you can also buy a special external waste ink for epsons via ebay.0
