Hello everyone
this is my first post on MSE! I have been a long time watcher of these forums and thought that I would contribute something back!
A few weeks months I applied for a halifax credit card, it took forever for the application to go through and in the end I rung them and they told me I had been reffered and refused!!! A few days later I got the "sorry your application as be rejected" letter - thanks halifax!
At the begining of this week, I received an email from checkmyfile.com telling me about their credit card survey. They are asking about bank and credit card companies customer service! So I filled it in about my halifax experience!
Checkmyfile are offering a Sony TV as a prize!
hope this is posted in the right place!
this is the link to the survey::

any way enjoy!

Do you actually bank with Halifax? Because if not, you are giving a false impression. That survey is more about "what do you think of the level of quality supplied by your bank?", not a bitter rant because someone rejected you, and who therefore arent 'your bank'.0

I do bank with halifax (but i dont have my wages paid I there.)
My rant is about their customer service not the fact that they turned me down. (although my last post does not make that very clear in hindsight!)
I was told that I would hear from halifax and did not. I had to chase them to find out what was happening!
sorry for any confussion!0 -
I think Halifax are a joke and I always recommend to my friends not to use them0

I am happy with my Current Account and Websaver and Regular Saver at the Halifax Bank...0

My mum asked them to withdraw £1000 from her current account, they withdrew it from her ISA. This was two days before April 6th - they refused to correct their mistake therefore my mum lost out on £1000 of her ISA allowance.
I arranged phone banking with them for my own account, I had gone into the 'local' branch (9miles away), the halifax 2 miles away is only an agent for them and as such cant deal with any requests like that. I went to the 'local' branch with both of my current account details (one is a student account). Reset the details, I went home, tried them out only to find that the Customer 'service' agent had not reset both my accounts, only one. So I had to go back to the branch to have them reset the other account.
However one thing I like about Halifax Internet Banking is that the transactions are instant where as Alliance and Leicester take three days to move money about between your accounts.0
