Currys fridgefreezer help please

Options
I bought a fridge freezer last thursday(13-8-08) they delivered it the next morning (14th)over the 4 hr time slot and told me to leave it off for 5 hours which i did when i went into the kitchen i noticed broken plastic casing dents and scratches on it.(i`m disabled and was resting)I phoned the 08445 number 6 times and finally given a number to have it picked back up and a new one delivered.I had to phone the same number again because they couldnt put me through and got a rude young man who told me it was nothing to do with him but i`d have to wait until the 19th (today)I phoned the delivery line after 9pm last night and the only details on the automated line are for the old delivery on the 14th.I have phoned the 08445 number a further 4 times with still no joy i have emailed currys with a complaint (14th) with no reply. As i`ve said im disabled so i can`t get into the store unless someone takes me.
Ive now wasted all this time sitting around waiting for them,i`ve had to throw over £30 of food out and i havent been able to go shopping this week because ive been waiting for the collection and delivery today and i can`t leave more food out for 5 hours.I`m really really upset and i feel that Currys has taken my money and now doesnt care less about me can anyone help please.

  • I forgot to add that the situation now is i have to wait til 9pm and start the whole process over again ringing the 08445 number trying to speak to a human trying to get someone to pick up the damaged goods and deliver me a new one but thats more waiting around more uncertainty more stress and more dealings with a company i now have no faith in and feel have treated me very badly.
I just want my money back and never to go near them again.

    Hi,

Did you buy it from a Currys store ....? Have you tried ringing them? Get them to sort it out?

Was the damage evident when you checked it over when it was unpacked? If so, the delivery crew should have noted it down and arranged for another one to come out to you.

If it was not noted when unpacked, then it is, unfortunately, just your word that it was damaged on delivery.

  • What a difference 30mins makes! I am getting the new fridgefreezer today, i am getting my delivery charge reimbursed, i have been apologised to over and over,i have been given the best service from any customer service ever thanks to a lovely man named Aurfan in Sheffield. Currys take note this man needs a pay rise he`s wonderful.

As often happens the skill is getting through to the right person who is willing to take ownership of the problem.

In general Currys' customer service is dreadful.

  • Ive had an email today now as well saying i`m being sent another £20 voucher by way of apology.
The damage to the original product was done on delivery but i was in so much pain i had to sit down and didnt check it immediately but the delivery men knew what they`d done as they`d placed a smapped off piece on the top.
Thank you for your help all
