Bank charges over 10 years old

Hi - through a strange feeling of fairness I decided not to try and reclaim charges - they go back to Sept 1996 and continued to Feb 1998 when I was made bankrupt. They were generally £27.50 for bouncing a cheque. The total charges were £1,705 and I'm sure contributed to my cash-flow problems at the time ( I was running a restaurant - say no more). As these are over 6 years old is there any point in me even sending copies of the letters off ? Many thanks to anyone for their time. Roger

That will be a no then. All moneys that may be owing to you from the account would actually be payable to the OR.

Thanks again Esmerellda, I hadn't thought of it that way ... I'll forget it then. Roger

Sorry to hi-jack this thread but I am basically in the same situation. My original Natwest account was open for 13 years. 1993 - 2006.

I was made bankrupt in 2006 and discharged in 2007.

I am thinking about requesting my bank charges to be paid back to me but Natwest was on the bankruptcy list as one of my creditors.

Even though my bankruptcy is now discharged will the money still be paid to the official receiver or will it come back to myself?

    Mike.
