Should I Complain?

I brought a light shade for my daughters room since im doing it up for her, heres a picture so it makes more sense

now one of the flower chains thing (sorry cant get my words out today!) is missing, if my dd hadnt noticed i wouldnt really care, but its not mentioned in the listing and had i of known i wouldnt of bought it.

i dont want to though, have to pay to return it.

am i being awkward?

i normally just leave positives even if im not 100% happy but since it wasnt for me, im quite disappointed, would i be a b!tch if i left a neutral?

If you're considering leaving a neutral, it's only reasonable to contact the seller before doing so.

Speak to the seller. They may offer a partial refund.

I dont always agree with this feedback is meant to reflect your experience. If you have received an item that you are happy to keep and dont expect the seller to do anything about. You should leave what you feel is appropriate feedback wether you speak to the seller or not

Thanks for your replies. I thought about messaging the seller but thought that all they'd offer me was a refund and I dont want to have to pay to send back a item that wasnt listed as damaged in the first place.

I wouldn't write off the seller.

Perhaps the bit fell off and they still have it.
Perhaps they forgot about the missing bit and will do a partial refund.

How do you know, unless you ask? Accidents happen, people make mistakes.

    And consider the following:

You're about to leave negative or neutral Feedback.

Carefully consider the following and check all the boxes before you continue.

I have contacted or tried to contact the seller to resolve issues
Email the seller or request additional contact information, such as a phone number.

I have allowed enough time for the item to arrive
Depending on the carrier, mail can take 2 weeks or longer to arrive.

My comment is factual and avoids personal remarks
Please remember that Feedback can't be edited or taken back.

You have to tick all the above 3 boxes.

i think ill send them a message tomorrow, thanks
  • They might have the spare bit (if a business seller), or even if it just fell off they could send you, definitely worth messaging them.

I have that exact same lightshade (although it's hiding in my daughters cupboard somewhere now as she's gone hannah montana instead now lol!) and to be honest, I am sure it's probably not even been spotted that there is a strand missing as those dangly flowers all get stuck together anyway, I would email the seller first and just explain and see what they say before leaving a neutral

  • had this myself. i sold on ebay an item of clothing which clearly showed in the photo the button above the zipper was present. the buyer then contacted me to say it was missing. the button had actually come off and rolled under the table when i was packing it to send. i found the button and sent it to the buyer with apologies.

i would therefore suggest you first contact your seller and try to resolve in a friendly fashion

    I would email the seller.

maybe put it up on the light and see if it bothers you and if you actually notice it!
