PCN (East Herts Council) sticker fell off windscreen

Got a parking charge today from east hertfordshire district council. i had purchased my all day ticket , affixed it to my windscreen as requested, however when i got back to my car, the ticket had fallen off the screen. Meaning the sticker was not that sticky
What can i do as i dont really want to pay this charge. is it worth appealing?
pls help me i still have the ticket with me

I've seen a couple of past cases where councils cancelled the PCN in these circumstances but with these things there are also issues of impropriety which is why we need to see the PCN - if there are errors it can help you.0 -
This happened to us at Scarborough a few years back. Went to Police station to ask their advice. They said send the Council a photocopy of your ticket and a letter explaining what happened.
Did exactly that and did not hear from them again.
