Air lock ?????

I had to change the seized valves on both the main stop !!!! and feed to HWC, so I shut the main isolation valve on the pavement outside the property and then opened the taps and drained the tanks down to change the valves.

Having now changed them and turned the water back on I don't get any water out of the hot taps?? I'm guessing I have an air lock somewhere as the valves are open but nothing comes out. Any ideas of how to remedy this ????

What type of hot water heating do you have?

It's just a cold water tank in the loft that gravity feeds the Hot water cylinder.

You could try this (requires 2 people):-
Connect a short piece of hosepipe between the cold tap and hot tap, it can a temporary type connection ie. just be hold on the pipe with you hands and use some rags wound around to help the seal, open hot tap, turn on cold tap, leave water to run for about 30 seconds (no longer), turn off cold tap, remove hosepipe, hopefully the hot water should start to flow.

If #4 doesn't work are you sure the valves are open?

If they are gate valves they are notorious for shearing off - usually with the valve in the opposite position to where you want it!.
