Need to build a firewall in the loft.

We are moving in on Friday to a 1920's semi (fingerscrossed
) At present there is no firewall in the loft space, which we need to put up as part of the mortgage conditions and for piece of mind anyway.
But we are not sure of the best way to go about it and I can't seem to find much up to date information online about it.
We were thinking that it would be a double thickness stud wall that would be best, but the loft hatch is pretty small lol so have also heard about people using thermalite blocks
Would be great to hear anyones experiences, any help appreciated. Thankyou.

Blocks is best for this, particularly as a firewall. I am not sure whether Building Regs approval would be required, but if it is, they can be quite specific about what is requiredHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. As a techie more than a builder, my first thought was "why are you building your internet firewall into your loft?"Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
