ok to have gas pipe on outside wall?

hi, is it ok for a gas pipe to run on an ouside wall from gas supply to bolier?
can it freeze?
do you need to insulate?

    Good evening: Yes...a value for money solution..natural gas freezes at minus 296.7 degrees F.

    We had to have this done at a previous property we lived in, it wasdone by British Gas, no problems with it all, we never insulated at all, (didn't even hink of that), we lived there for 15 years with it like that, never encountered any probs what so ever.

    im not being a smart !!!! but....gas freezes at THAT temperature but what about the pipe it is carried in? will the weather affect that?

    Many houses have pipes on the outside, my last one did. A pipe that came out of the ground and up the wall to the box.

    No weather wont affect copper for a few hundred years, !!!!!! on the other hand love a bit of copper :D

    Good morning: the new external gas supply will be in copper....a google for 'copper properties' will reveal all.;)
