Thomsons flight problem

Hi Having just returned from a weeks holiday in Majorca I thought I would seek advice before I write to complain to Thomsons. Whilst in the resort we were told by the Rep we could pre-book our seats for the return journey so we could all sit together (2 adults and 2 kids ). We duly paid 26 euros for the privelage and was told that everything would be done. So imagine our surprise when checking in at the airport that we had 2 seats together (adults named) and 2 seats on standby !!. We were not impressed. We went to gate, we were last on the plane because of trying to sort out the problem and found that 2 were seated together with the other 2 seats in various positions in the cabin. I would like the best advice on what to write to Thomsons as I believe we have not recieved good quality rservice. All comments welcome.

I dont know what advice to give you, but I booked and paid for seats together and paid extra to choose the actual seats we were sitting in. We didnt get the actual seats on either the outbound or the inbound flights! I have sent an email to Thompson but (not surprisingly) have not heard anything from them.0 -
WRITE to Thomson and ask for the £26 Euros back, as you didn't get the service you'd paid for.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
When you complain (which you must do) keep it to the point and keep all emotion out of it. Was there any report done at the airport? Did you keep your
boarding passes and your receipt from the rep in resort. Make sure you copy
and post this to them recorded delivery. They do have 28 days to reply
to any complaints.0 -
Hi, yes I do have the receipt from the reps and also the boarding passes. I will write today whilst everything is still fresh in my mind. Many thanks for all replies. Any further comments are also welcome.0

Yeah, they should give you your 26 Euros back -give them the reps name that you spoke to. im presuming you paid cash?
Bet he pocketed it! lol!0 -
I had a problem with Thomsons, I wrote and complained to which I received 'holiday vouchers'. From there I rang and asked for a cheque and got one a couple of weeks later. They were quite helpful throughout and were around 1-2wks in each reply.
Be careful that they don't claim you have 'used the flight' or 'used the seats' or any other such nonesense- they had loads of bad arguements for why they didn't want to give me a cheque, but after careful and non-emotional explanations they conseeded (sp) to switching the vouchers for a cheque. If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
Bottom line is you paid for a service (getting pre-booked seats together), that was not delivered.
You are therefore well within your rights to seek a refund for what is essentially a breach of contract (although I'm assuming there weren't any additional terms & conditions attached to that service).0
