Hi All

Just going though VR at work a
t the moment and have been sent the compromise agreement papers to sign. The issue is that I need proof of identity (And the letter says Driving licence or passport) which at the moment I do not have.

I have requested a passport which can take up to 6 weeks (As it is my first) so I was wondering does anyone know if any other forms of ID are accepted (I have both Short and full birth certificate as well as work pass though it is not signed)

Can anyone help as the HR from the company I work for do not know.

The reason is we are getting a visit from a solicitor to counter sign this and I would like to be prepared before hand.

Thank you

I'm in the same position, no passport or photo driving licence. Am waiting for a reply from HR to see if my paper licence or something else is OK.

it is the solicitor, not your HR department, who need proof of ID, so I would call them. It can't be the first time it has happened, and they'll probably answer faster

Normally a birth certificate and something showing proof of address will suffice. I have worked with a number of lawyers who prefer a birth certificate but settle for the other pieces of identification as it is more and more common to find that people don't have their birth certificates for whatever reason.
