Being Charged.. Because of a charge!

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone can help me in regards to my problem!
I have an old halifax visa electron debit card that I only use now for the gyms direct debit. As my gym contract is coming to an end, I didn't see the point of moving it all over to my new account, so every month I just put my gyms fee into the bank.
For some reason last month it didn't go in to the account, I must have placed it from my savings account into my new current account or something. When I realised I rang up the gym and paid direct using my new account. I never thought that I may occur a charge because of this.
However, I occured a charge because of this. Halifax agreed to reimburse the charge as I havent occured charges on the account before, as a good-will gesture.
However (!) I never use the account that the charge occured on.. So when I recieved the charge, I had minus £35-ish! And by the sounds of it I am now going to get another charge because of this, which they wont altermatically refund with a refund, as the first one was only as a goodwill gesture!
Has anyone got any suggestions on what I should do when the charge comes through?! I've looked online but all the information is going way over my head! It's just annoying I may get a charge because of a charge which I no longer have to pay for :S I know 35quid isnt much, but I'm starting university in September and need all the money I can get!
Many thanks for reading my very long winded post. :j

HI
If Halifax have refunded the first charge as a goodwill gesture, I would call them back and explain that as the first charge was refunded there should have been no others applied, I see what is happening there though, If you ignore it, 6 months down the line you will end up around £300 overdrawn because of one charge.
If you get no Joy on the phone, send the Prelim letter on here and give them 14 days to reply, if you need to go down this route make sure you do add any other charges on to the claim, go back as far as you wish.(Understand that you said this was the first charge but double check, you might be suprised):rolleyes:Abbey Claim 1 - WON £2300 Inc Interest :rotfl:
Abbey Claim 2 - Won £990 :rotfl:
Abbey Claim 3- £1157.80 + Interest @0.25 per day (LBA)

HI
The Prelim is the fIrst letter that you would send asking them for your money back, giving them 14 days to reply.Abbey Claim 1 - WON £2300 Inc Interest :rotfl:

Totally agree with the above and the reason behind it and that is what you need to argue with Halifax. Their advisor indicated to you that no other charges would go out of the account on this occasion
