Invisible parking ticket

I have received notification from Bristol City Council that I was given a parking ticket.
On the day they say, I was in fact in Bristol, and when I got back to my car it did have a yellow sticky envelope on the windscreen, but there was no ticket in it.
Should I just pay the £75 they are asking (more cos I didn't pay faster) and put it down to a bad job?

Have you received the nto yet? If so post it here, Both sides, so the experts can see if its faulty and give you a way out.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

All I have is a "CHARGE CERTIFICATE" (their caps).
I can scan and post if it helps0 -
Yes it would help, you should have received an NTO first, by post which would have been the time to appeal, however all is not lost as others more in the know will tell you.
Edit out your personal details and the VRM, leave all dates on there.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
