Hi folks, sorry, couple of days off with internet problems - kicked the pc instead of calling engineer, so guess that's money saving!

    As at 11th, had £84.07.

Since then - mates coming back from hols took me out to lunch as thank you for me looking after their car (saved them airport parking fee); other mate got promoted and took me out for dinner. So FREE and fat!

Just spent £11.05 in Lidl on fruit and snacks for week. Am off work this week, so much temptation! Am going to try being a skint tourist in my own town and seeing all the free things.

Sammy, reading list sounds good, let me know what's helpful. Elona, I promise to enrole at local library thios week!

Ebay stuff went for £50!!! However am not going to spend it in challenge as it was a one off. BUT that and survey money and changing leccy supplier cash SHOULD pay for the interview suit, which I will get at month end.

    £73.02 to go, and 16 days... £4.56 a day.

    Hi Emzie

Good to hear from you, worried you had perished from malnutrition. Thought you might like to hear about this website https://www.cosmeticresearchonline.co.uk

they invite you to join trials to sample cosmetics. (not in the guinea pig way). You get free samples and all you have to do is use the samples and then fill in a questionaire at the end. Its a bit long winded to join, but worth it!

    It all helps!

    Hi

Sorry to butt in but what i thought of doing, was allowing for all my usual dd's ect out of the bank. and giving myself the allowance from then. So i would have £150 a week to live on including bills, petrol, shopping, tax insurance, and all the usuals like gas leccy and stuff.

This will be hard for me so i think i am starting at the correct point for me.

To calculate, you have to work out how much is or jsa you would get, it tells you on the jobcentreplus website. Also if you have kids go to entitledto.co.uk and put your income in as zero for the year before it will tell you how much tax credits you are entitled to, then you add you cb on top.

I took JSA,assumed I'd get council tax paid, and took off leccy, insurance, tv licence, and the cost of a weekly bus pass(as I'd sell the car)

Hi all. When i was made 'redundant' and had to live off child benefit and child tax credits i paid only what i needed to live on. Basically food, petrol kids dinner moneys etc. I had no other money to pay bills etc. What I have done since then is any salary I have goes to bills, dd's etc and paying off my debts. We now live still live off child benefit and tax credits, both of which go into a completely seperate account. We have no access to the other account, so can't cheat. I have £10 left over this week. Yippeeeeeeee!!!!1

PS always have a little nervous breakdown at the begining of the week, but always get over it

BTW - that was £121.00 child tax credit and £52 child benefit. This was for my and OH, 1 seventeen year old boy, 2 girls aged 16 and 12 and a baby of six months. I got no other benefits because my ex-boss refused to comply with job centre and tell them why or if he had made me redundant
