probably the wrong place to post, but i know most people who will have preordered will be on this board at some time, anyway here goes:-
has anybody who has pre-ordered windows 7 from amazon had the money for it taken out recently, i checked my online bank statement today and noticed that they have taken £47,97 out of my accounttoday, and the only thing i have purchased of them is windows 7, weird thing is though the order came in at £44.97 as i managed to get fee delivery, so cant quite work out if they have indeed taken the money out already for it why there is a £3 difference, not really bothered about that, more concerened that this may be a fraudalant transacction using my card, as my amazon account is only showing i have ordered windows 7 in the last 6 months, and if it is that they have taken the money for, i would have thought they would have taken money straight away, i.e 4 weeks ago, or on despatch on 22 october, seems a funny time to take money, month after ordering, and 2 months before despatch, anyway can anybody else confirm amazon have taken there money to put my mind at rest, many Thanks Dave

just had another thought, wasnt it the 15th august that was the official end of microsofts really cheap price for windows 7, so maybe amazon have waited till that passed then took the money, but still puzzling why there is £3 difference

I ordered through Amazon, but they haven't taken anything from my credit card. Also when I check my account at Amazon and view the order I can still change all the payment details, so I'm guessing it's not yet in the process of being claimed.0

mine still says that i can change payment details as well, so i am guessing then it looks like i have being stung by somebody using my detailsTake every day as it comes!!0

Same here, I pre-ordered Win7 from Amazon and no money taken from my card either. Whenever I've pre-ordered stuff before from Amazon the money always seems to be debited on the day of despatch no matter how far in advance the order was placed.0

i cancelled my preorder last night, just cant be bothered with 7 now, im quite happy with vista 64bit.
one thing that confuses me is the name of 7 shouldnt it be 9 or 10 ?
even if they go off NT kernel releases it still doesnt addup to 7 does it ?

windows 7 is 10th in the list (if you called windows 3.1 the 3rd) and thats missing out all the fruity server options.0 -
Glad to see there are testers for windows 7 ready when it finally gets released.
Wonder if Microsoft have fixed the 2gig memory leak yet!0 -
You have signed up for Amazon Prime. The charge of £47.97 is for that yearly membership and NOT the product you have bought.
You can cancel if you have not used it at all. Go to your account and search for Amazon Prime Membership there.
When you order something and want free delivery, you need to click the standard option - you have clicked on the free next-day Prime Trial one.0 -

Well in October I'll have:
1x Win7 home premium edition upgrade - cost me £35ish
1x Win7 home premium full version -cost £44ish
1x Win7 ultimate edition upgrade - cost £'more than I probably needed to spend'
Am planning to ebay any I don't eventually need for PC builds...0 -
They will refund if you are able to cancel and you can cancel if you haven't used it. I think that when you click to cancel the membership via your account it will let you know the rules for a refund and will check you are eligable. Give it a good read.0
