Good Morning.
Found it very difficult to drag myself out of bed this morning for a grey, rainy day! I'm aiming for a no-spend day today, although I am going to a pre-opening event at the new Anthropologie Store on Regent Street, so we'll see how long that lasts! It is my favourite shop in the U.S. ( I spent a year there for university) and I'm terrified now that they are opening them here as it will be much more expensive!
I'm waiting for a cheque from Music Magpie for £70 which will go straight off my credit card. I am also waiting for my first quidco payout this month of a massive £19.50, and I have also got payment for 2 mystery shops coming through so all together will be an extra £100ish off the dreaded CC.
Hope everyone else is having a good day so far!0 -
Well...certainly not a NSD for me yesterday and not even at Anthropologie! The friend I was supposed to be going with had got the day wrong for the special event, and so I thought 'brilliant - I can stick to my target!' But when I got home, my flatmate was on his way out to Ikea with his Mum in the car, and I just couldn't resist a trip where I could get something I've needed for ages and not have to drag it back on the bus, which is always hell! Anyway, not too much damage done as I managed to find the perfect chest of drawers for only £45 and I got a couple of extra bits that I needed for a total of about £60. Not bad considering my room is now completely sorted and I won't have to keep my clothes in a box under the bed! Now I just have to build it....
I am working late tonight so should be able to manage an NSD for real this time. I have a mystery shop to do tomorrow and I'm taking the afternoon off to catch up on some really boring things, and to prepare for a charity event that I'm hosting on Sunday.
Thank goodness it's payday next week and I can set myself some fresh challenges and pay some £ off the card!
Hope everyone is having a good day!0 -
While I'm thinking about it, I thought I would post my 'to-do' list for payday:
1. Reduce Nationwide Overdraft from £600 to £100 as a buffer.
2. Pay all bills in full and work out how much my flatmates owe me.
3. Pay £100 from Credit Card
4. Pay £50 to Christmas fund
I'm planning to do a payment a day this month to see how that works out for me.0 -
Good luck with your targets Dallas.0

Gooooood Morning!
Well yesterday was an NSD for me as I had to work late so all good in this hood. Plus this morning we finally had our shower fixed by the plumber so that is a big relief! It's been broken for 2 weeks, and I can't work out whether we've increased our bills from taking baths, or whether we've saved money because the two boys could never be bothered to take one!!
I'm a bit cross with myself as I think that I am going to be closer to my overdraft limit this month than I was intending due to the Ikea purchases and to a bit of overspending. This means that I might have to change my first target to £200 Overdraft instead of £100 so that I don't get into trouble at the end of next month, but I hope with a bit of strict budgetting I'll be fine. Is it bad that I'm *hoping* for a quiet month?!0 -
Pay day today thank goodness!
- I've shuffled my money around into different accounts and saved £50 into the Christmas budget.
- I've reduced my Nationwide overdraft to £300 for now and hopefully next month I can reduce it again to £100.
- I've made a payment of £90 to my credit card so far and will update my signature when it shows up.
- My cheque for £70 came through from Music Magpie so I'm off to bank that later and then I will transfer to the CC.
- When the money from Quidco and MS assignments come into my account I will transfer them too which means that if I can PAD £117 then I'll reach this month's target of £1500 balance on my CC.
Looking at my last month's bank statements I can see that I've fallen back into some bad habits of buying lunches and coffees so I'm going to stop that this month so I can make some real progress.
My big expense this month will be a present for my Mum and Dad's 25th Wedding anniversary. I'm hoping to buy them a print by an artist they like - it won't be more than £100 and I think they will love it.
That's all for now!0 -
Well done Dallas, that's great!!0
