Any Chevvy or Daewoo drivers out there
Is there any MSE'rs out there that drive a Chevvy Tacuma or Daewoo Tacuma, just got a couple of questions regarding fuel consumption
I normally get 350-370 miles per tank so in old money thats ... 31- 33mpg, just want to know the average for other drivers with these vehicles
Car has only done 11000 miles and was serviced 3 weeks ago, just done feel this is the right mpg from a 11 gallon tank...

seems like you are doing good, acording to a review of the car..Fuel economy was also a concern with a combined figure of 26.2 mpg it inevitably means more trips to the petrol station for the proposed budget conscious family buyer.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

Last year my brother had a Daewoo Tacuma as a temporary company car. It was a 1.6 and the avergae economy was poor. He calculated it at around 25/26mpg. This was with mixed driving. Most 1.6 petrol cars these days will easily get close to 40mpgIf you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

Sorry 31- 33mpg it the top end, has been as low as 26mpg on more than one occation...
mixture of motorway speeds and urban driving. Filling up about once per week, just with £1 per litre approaching fast...gonna cost over £50 every week...

Well then its still good, that review was on a brand new one with no engine wear which will bring down the MPG so you are getting average for what you should be getting.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
What engine size?
We had an early 1.8 which was an older generation GM 8v engine, not overly powerful or economical but a good reliable workhorse. Usually got about 290 miles on a tank (general urban commuting).
I understand that the later 1.6 engines were a bit more up to date with regards to power / economy but still below par compared to the most recent technology available through a lot of other manufacturers. However, for what you get for the money (and the whole 3 year peace of mind) I really don't think you can fault these cars.
BTW you won't achieve the published MPG for any car, as it will have been road tested in a lab to get those figures. Probably allow for them being anything like 10-15% optimistic IMHO.

Cheers for the thought Billy,
BTW its a 1.6, and you cant get much better than 3 years free servicing
