I'm guessing this is a pretty pointless question but I'll ask anyway!!
As the title says, I have given someone that I wanted to get in touch with me the wrong email address:eek:. When I realised my mistake I set up a new address to match what I'd given them but I think by then it was already too late! Is there anyway of retrieving a message sent before the address was set up?? I know it's probably a really stupid question:o!!
Thanks in advance!

BTW, it's a googlemail account, just in case that makes any difference!!

I dont think so, not unless you can get into the senders email and look at their sent messages!Total payment recieved from GPT etc as June: £0.000
-
they probably received a message saying that their email didn't go through. Maybe they will try again...0

You could ring them up, send them a letter, go round to see them, Tweet at them, and so on! Do you know anyone they know, who could pass on a message? Though I suspect you don't have the information to make any of this possible...0

I think email wise you are up the creek - there probably will be a message back but it will say that the account doesn't exist. Now if I got that sort of bounce I might just try some slight variations on the email address I'd used in case of typos but I wouldn't resend it to the failed address.0

Hi,
if he's still interested he will be back in the pub/club where you first met. :rotfl:
Did you maybe give him a duff email addy just to get rid of him for the night, then have second thoughts?0 -

It's a guy I met on holiday! We were both on holiday with our kids! I really thought I'd given out the right address but realised it ended with 7 and I'd written 07! aside from hiring a private detective I'm going to have to chalk this one up to stupidity!Joined SW 24/02/2011 :j71lb/28.5lb-6, -2.5, -2, -1, -2 -, -2 sow, +3(holiday), -5.5 (*) +0.5, +1, -4, -0.5(*), -3(10%!!) +0.5, -3, -1, -1(2st:j)

You could try registering this address then hope he emails again...0 -
Bummer! A good idea (which will help when you meet future Mr. Rights, but not past ones) is to print out slips of paper / buisness cards with your correct email address / facebook address / mobile number (or whatever personal info you are prepared to give out to ramdom totty) and keep them in your purse.
You can always use a more annoymous email address which you can add to outlook/thunderbird so it is regularly checked - annaangeluk - at - gmail.com (unless of course that is your real name!).
If you know what city he's from and his first name you might be able to try a search on facebook and hope he has a photo on his profile (massive longshot).0 -

aw shucks!
Is he from your own area, if so you could put a wee advert in local paper, (not wanting to appear too keen, of course :rotfl:) explaining mistake, though don't put full email address, only correction, or you might be bombarded with smutty emails from weirdos.0
