After what John Cleese just got handed I'll pass on what the expected outcome will be!

    Was just reading about that!!!!
Shocking ... BUT American court (?? well I hope that's where the blame lies?!)
  • i would be tempted to initiate the divorce, get the child custody and demand a fat maintence payment. Take her to the cleaners. The fact that she ruined the marriage by cheating must count in your favour? At least then she will be out of your hair and you wont need to worry about her dragging her sponging useless self back at some later date with some sob story. Get rid.

Im sure there are plenty of nice women out there who would love to have a devoted caring single dad (you) in their life.

Get a good family law solicitor. With child custody involved you will need one. Is there a chance your home may be in negative equity? If so 50% of a minus figure won't please her one bit.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • Blimey. This sort of thing is a good advert for pre-nuptal agreements.
Hope it can be resolved quickly and in your favour.
  • Get a solicitor and a divorce quick - before she and the other chap have had a chance to fall out/split up.

As previous posters have said, she could come waltzing back into the house and be full time carer for the child, not work and you could be out on your tush and paying her to live in the house

However, there may be a bit more to this than meets the eye...and we've only heard one side.

It takes two to make a marriage and (usually) two to break a marriage
