Im Unsure Where To Get A Leather Suite!

Hello,
My OH has finally agreed to getting a reclining leather suite, and I have been reading the comments on here about some of the bigger named companies such as DFS, SCS, Harveys etc. There seems to be no positive comments about any of them!!
I am now unsure of where to buy the suite! We do want to be able to go into a store to try it out, rather than buy one "blind" as we both have big fat bums and want them to be comfortable!! :rotfl:
I would appreiciate any help!
Thanks

I love my leather sofa, easy to clean etc very comfy it can be cold sometimes but all in all I much prefer leather. Go into the shops and try them out0

How about John Lewis for an investment buy? Excellent reputation for quality, customer service and after care. Seems like a good place to spend a large sum of money IYKWIM.0

I got mine from Binns, which is part of the House of Frasier group. It was expensive and i had to wait 6 weeks for delivery but 5 yrs on it's still as good as new and very comfortable.0

It does really depend on the price you are willing to pay-
MFI and homebase do some
I would recommend http://www.cookesfurniture.co.uk/ if you have a local shop- although they aren't cheap ( I got an ex display model from them at a reasonable price- but still more than you would pay for most of the high street outlets )
Also try and undertand the differences in the leather type ( natural or covered)
Perhaps try and find a named maker - such as Natuzzi and look for their outlets

Don't know if anyone on here has critisiced Land of Leather, but that's where we are getting ours from - good offers at the moment - see landofleather.co.uk for pics and then go in the store and try them out!

Thanks for the responses, we don't know whether to go for an expensive one which will last, or a cheaper one which wont last as long, but we can update sooner.:smileyheaRachel xx0

That's the problem, if i was you I would have a look at the cheaper and more expensive alternatives.
We bought our latest one at DFS and paid £1000 less than our last one which we only had for 3 years but didn't fit our new house.
If you are someone who gets bored easily with your furniture then go for the cheaper option but if it's an investment for a lot of years go for the expensive.
I know that lots of people have had problems with DFS but we were fine and the sofas are spot on.
Just do your homework first.
Cheers

I have been looking around for a leather recently and it's done my head in!
In and out of every shop I know, looking on the internet etc etc... (inc DFC & John Lewis)sitting down, standing up. getting kids out of the car and strapping them back in again
Same problem not knowing whether to spend less or more.
Finally ended up at John Peters spending more on a Natuzzi, well 2 x 2 seaters. 14 weeks delivery
Spend £2500ish put down 20% and rest over 2 years 0% which is good.
There where actually 2 different suites we liked and we asked if we were to buy the dearer one was there a possibility of any further discount and they knocked off £116. Don' ask don't get! So you could always try that.
Good luck hunting :beer:0 -
if you want it to last dont buy a light colour, even if your the cleanest person in the world it will start to show the grime after a while.0

If you want somthing that will last buy from a company based near me in Farnworth near Bolton. Churchill Reproductions http://www.churchill-reproductions.co.uk/
The make them at their factory, the frames are very heavy and strong and everything is made to order and to your specification so prices do vary slightly if you want buttons or whatever they can do it, recliners, sofa beds anything any colour of leather and wood. Their website is being updated but you can see some shots from their showroom but if you contact them they can email you pictures of styls you may be interested in.0
