Laptop Ac Adapters

Needed to replace AC adapter for my Sharp Actius PC FS2518 laptop bought from PC World a few years ago. PC WORLD quoted me £199...........ugh, or £66 for a universal one. Many website companies I contacted could not trace my model laptop. I found MDS Battery Ltd., at Hastingwood Trading Estate,Harbet Road N18 3HT Tel; 209 884 4904 which is nearby to where I live. I visited with my laptop and they were able to supply one for £34!!!!!!!

Good to see PC World still providing good aftersales at reasonable prices isn't it!

PC World only want a mere £200 for a replacement battery! Even the companies in England that are the authorised dealers for Sharp spare parts cannot supply either the AC adapter or Battery as the model number is an imported product by the retailer and they refer me back to PC World. MDS did not have a compatible battery at the time of my visit but have found a couple of places that I can take the laptop too in the hope they can fit one - but not urgent as my wonderful AC Adapter works just fine. Prescott might be able to afford these prices but I cant.

Try Maplins - should be around £30.

Not being a Techie, did not think of Maplins. I did not realise one had to let the battery run down and then charge it. I have hardly ever used the battery in the three years that I have had the computer so the one I have now is virtually useless. Have a Maplins close by........thanks.

CONNECT DISTRIBUTERS LTD., another Sharp authorised dealer quoted £277 including VAT for a battery pack..........more expensive than PC WORLD!
