google keeps redirecting to adverts

Hi ya,

I've got this very annoying problem everythime i do a goole search ,click on the link it redirects me to an advertising page instead of going to the link i clicked on.
I've ran my avira antivirus, spybot, malware hijack this, ccleaner, they come up with problems, i've got them fixed, restarted my computer and the problem starts all over again. I've googled a fix for this but it seems that alot of people are having this problem especially with google.

I've used the other search engines and they seem fine.

Please could you help me as this is driving me crazy and obviously there is a malware issue and not good for my pc.

thanks

  • ok, the virus is called, the windows xp 2009 virus, i believe

you need to download windows defender which will clean most of it out, also, run task manager, and see if you can write down all the items under, processes

if it is, the full blurb to remove it here. (Although the symptoms do seem to be different)
  • symptons vary from computer to computer, mine started like that, without just having the links, then it moved into full blown, unable to use anything on my computer.

Try blocking 3rd party cookies as a first step

INTERNET EXPLORER: Tools> Internet Options> Privacy> Advanced: check Override automatic Allow session cookies'; 'Allow 1st party cookies' & 'Block 3rd Party Cookies'.

Cookies are just little data files stored and read by the browser on behalf of the remote webserver. They do not cause redirects (although their content may be used by the remote server decide to redirect) so blocking them will not fix this problem which is almost certainly cause by malware.

You probably need to run HiJackThis and MalwareBytes as suggested in the sticky at the top of this forum (then hope that AlienRik drops by to interpret the outputs :))
  • thank you for posting these, however, sorry to be a pain, i was more after the image name line rather than description, these give me the file name and are usually a better indication as to what the programme is.

did you install the superantispyware yourself? as sometimes these spyware software items plant spyware in an effort tog et you to pay for their higher end versions
