Thought you needed a consumer credit licence to offer credit like this?
Yes - unfortunately you need to buy it for 5 years so it is a bit of a lump so you should do lots of research once you set up before going down that route. Worth considering though - the cost per year will be covered by 1 or 2 treatments.

OP, if you are in IT are you planning to continue with that career for a bit? It sounds to me like the sort of business that will take a while to get established so if you had a reliable income for 2-3 days a week that would really take the pressure off.

Also if you can add some other treatments, especially lower costs ones (waxing, nails, tanning, I don't really know about this stuff) it will help you if trends change or disposable income changes. The more strings to your bow the better. Perhaps you could also affiliate with some salons, I bet some would love to offer this but don't have the qualified staff. As they would be appointment based you wouldn't be tied to one location but it could help you get custom, if you are just mobile at the moment without a marketing budget you'll business may take a while to build.

Good luck with it, these sorts of things generate recurring custom so once the business is built it could do very well :)

You could try to get into some of the big businesses and offer the ladies a 'lunch time' session. Imagine somewhere like the Inland Revenue - quite a few people there could do with some botox LOL!!! Something like a mobile salon (don't know if that's at all practical with the safety implications) I think could be a winner too
;24322803]Hi,

RCT as in Rhondda Cynon Taff?

    I'm in Newport.

    Who did you contact initially?
So how'd you get a grant from RCT if you're in Barry? Or is RCT where your business is?

No. I'm keeping my full time job - it pays OK.

My wife works part-time as a nurse at the mo. Plan is to drop her hours even more if this all comes off. But not until its looking good.

You need to be a health professional anyway to be able to do botox. And shes got to do a minimum of nursing hours every year so her professional status doesnt lapse.

Plan is to expand into other areas of cosmetic surgery such as dermal fillers, and chemical peels etc. in the future if it goes OK (but these courses are also VERY expensive).

The friend of ours whos got the links with local salons already does nails, eyelashes, tanning etc. So we're planning to offer a joint service along with her....
