A bit miffed....

Basically, our house has been on the market for over four weeks now but we haven't yet had a single viewing or enquiry!!!

The property is on sale with a reputable local estate agent and a couple of weeks ago they told us that a handful of people have taken the details away.

The property is in the estate agent's window and has appeared in the local property paper twice. Is there anything we should be doing/asking instead of waiting for the phone to ring for a viewing?

Many thanks in advance.

Research what similar properties are selling for locally.
    Happy chappy
  • Have you asked your agent what they put it down to and if they have any suggestions as to something you could do to generate interest?? How about free doughnuts with every viewing?

First, I agree with everyone else, see what else is on the market for the same price locally and compare to yours. Objectively.

Once it's priced right, make sure it's an agent that uses Rightmove. If your house isn't on there it certainly should be, most buyers use it these days.

Ask them how many buyers they've called. When a house goes on they should phone all buyers registered with them who want details in your price range. To be honest if you didn't get an initial flurry of interest when it first went on then something is definitely wrong somewhere.

Have you seen the details sheets? Check the photos are flattering, details are detailed and accurate, and get them to change them if necessary.
