Did you try sending one in English as well?
That "letter" is atrocious.0 -
Its fair enough if you wanted to push it to say you are not happy with points and do not feel this is fair compo. You've kinda put yourself in a hole though by saying how you have stayed in many intercontinental hotels as this suggests that you are very likely to use the points at another hotel.0

I am quite impressed with the email response from the Holiday Inn. It appears they have excellent customer service and i suspect if you had complained to the manager while you were there they may have refunded your money. As they say its not their fault some drunken guest came back, they fixed the tile issue (and i bet they would have let you move rooms if you asked) and they are on the case on all the other issues. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Holiday Inns aren't exactly pleasant anyway.
Most Holiday Inn hotels are of a good standard, however the OP stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. HIE are a separate brand, and they are of a lower standard to Holiday Inn.
Mark Hewitt, the reason you got a refund from Premier Inn is because it is policy to do so in such circumstances, irrespective of what the customer requests as an outcome.
I think that the OP's email is pants, and the hotel have been more than generous. Can't believe you complained about a lack of milk in a 2.5* hotel!Gone ... or have I?0 -
Did you complain to the manager at any time during your stay?
Request a new room or to discuss the attitude of reception?
I fully agree.
If you were not happy with the room at the time you should have contacted reception raised the issues and asked to be changed rooms.
I don't know what you want from them? They have responded to your email, they have addressed each point and have given you some priority points. I think this is more than enough.0 -
Holiday Inns aren't exactly pleasant anyway.
The OP is talking about Holiday Inn Express, which is a 2-3 star hotel chain ... as someone who travels a lot for work, I find them very good ... normally £40-£60 & free continental breakfast ... plus decent shower & a few sky channels ...
I think HI have been very generous in their response, as 5000 points is about 1 night free .....

I once had the misfortune to stay at a hotel, where the room was unpleasant. The current Freda Snowbits went hence forth to the reception and told them of this. we were moved and thnked by the staff, as they were unaware of the problems and relaxed with their free drinks.
far better than hiding in the ether of emails wanting revenge0 -
I stayed in a hotel where there were loud and drunk guests (running naked up and down the corridors!). Called the manager up at 2am and had a flaming row with him there and then. Funnily enough, got two free nights. But the moral is to complain at the time. I think the response the hotel has given here is pretty good.0
