I emailed a seller about possible collection for an item of furniture as I live nearby and the postage was high. I also liked the look of a couple of other pieces of his furniture.

I received a nice polite reply saying that I can collect but it is subject to a 'collection charge' of £12!! to cover 'costs etc'.

I have emeiled him and told him its a shame about the fee avoidance as I would have paid a lot lot the item and was also interested in a couple more of his pieces.

If they want more money...start it higher!grrr!

Sellers are entitled to charge a fee for collection. I doubt that ebay would take an interest.
