Focus corrosion.

I have noticed some rust starting to appear on my 2001 Focus around the passenger door just under the door mirror.
Looking at the Focus owners club forum this seems to be a common problem on some cars, the local dealer has submitted a claim to Ford but isn't hopefull they will cover it.
Fords warranty talks about a 12 year anti rust warranty.
If my claim isn't sucessfull would it be worth persuing through the small claims court?

Not if you don't meet the T&c's of the warranty, A lot of them are made so they don't have to pay out. e.g.

You have to have annual paint inspection service
The rust has to be 'through rust' starting on the inside and working its way through to the outside.

I don't know what fords conditions are.
