Can we reclaim unknown account fees?

Upon inspection of my girlfriends bank statements it appears she has been charged £12.50 a month for the pleasure of having a current account. She had no idea this money was coming out and was completely unaware of the so called benefits (RAC Cover, card protection etc..)
Is there any chance we could claim these account fees back? They appear to of been mis-sold, as she is completely unaware it.

It is unlikely that she will be able to do so. However I would go through every benefit there is on the account and see how much she COULD have benefitted against how much she DID benefit. This may prove that for example, if she had no car then she wouldn't need RAC cover so she might argue that for the amount she paid against the amount she could have benefitted her outweighed it. One claimant from lloyds got repaid fees minus the amount that they benefitted from the account.Upon inspection of my girlfriends bank statements it appears she has been charged £12.50 a month for the pleasure of having a current account. This one is a time consuming process because you have to go through all the benefits in order.0 -
She hasn't benefitted at all from the account, as far as she was concerned it was a normal current account. However the bank have been charging her every month withour her noticing.0

The question is not whether she DID benefit but whether she COULD have benefitted. Not everyone uses the benefits on their account since they do not explore the account that they pay for. The issue is how much is the savings she could have made against the benefits that she couldn't have benefitted from whatsoever for example, car insurance yet she doesn't have a driving licence so that benefit is out.She hasn't benefitted at all from the account, as far as she was concerned it was a normal current account. I hope that clarifies the post but as a general rule you cannot claim back the charges for account fees with benefits on them.0
